  • Chakrata is situated between the Tons and Yamuna rivers, at an elevation height of 2118 m. It is 98 km from state capital Dehradun. Chakrata was originally a cantonment of the British Indian Army. 
  • To the west lies Himachal Pradesh and to the east lies Mussoorie (Queen Of Hills) and Tehri Garhwal District.

Major Trekking Route's # Uttarakhand


1) Har ki Dun Trek : Har ki Dun track is cradle Shaped valley which rooted from ancient villages of Uttarkashi district which is 3000 years Old. You will find to see villages like Osla, Gangad and Seema which are untouched from the outside world. This track is very rare where you get an intimate look at the local lifestyle and culture. Apart from this Har Ki Dun is one of the most beautiful tracks in western Himalayas. This track is located in Govind National Park is characterized by alpine meadows, moraine ridge's, the glacier basins passes through deodar forest and ancient villages.



2) Nelong Valley : This track is located in Uttarkashi district at an altitude of 11000 ft. This track is situated in Jaal Ganga valley on the border of India and China. If we look at history we will see that in ancient times this valley through Uttarkashi to Tibet was the trade route between these respective places. You can see the snow- mountains of Tibet on this track.


3) Chandrasheela Trek : Chandrasheela track of Chamoli district is located in Chopta. The best thing is that you can come here in any season of the year. Chandrasheela can also be called as the lightest track of the Himalayas. It's height from Tungnath is about 4000 m.


4) Dayara Bugyal : If you want to see the most beautiful grasslands in Uttarkashi district than you can come here. This track is located at an altitude of 3048 m. From this track you can see the magnificent view of Bandarpunch peak and Gangotri Peak. This track will give you  the feel of heaven.


5) Roop kund Trek: Roopkund track of Chamoli District ( Uttarakhand) is the most popular track in India. Roopkund track is locally known as Mystery lake which is a high altitude glacier lake. Roopkund trishul is situated in  the lap of mass and the shore is famous for hundreds of human skeletons found near by the shore. Roopkund is located at an altitude of 15700 feet, it is covered with rock-starred glacier and snow covered mountains which makes it a good trekking destination. The route of the  Roopkund track passes  through the twin bugyal of Auli and Bedni. Along Roopkund track you will find the amazing view of peaks like Kedarnath, Chaukhamba, Neelkanth, Trishul and Nanda Ghunthi.



6) Pindari Trek : Pindari glacier is located in Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. Pindari glacier originates from Pindari river. The famous Pindari is located in the northern part of  Kapkot block. The journey to the Pindari glacier is thrilling as well as adventurous. On this glacier sun rays falling in the morning  always attract the tourists towards it themselves. khati village is the last village on this track. Pindari glacier is situated at an altitude of 12500 feet above sea-level.



7) Millam Trek : Millam track is situated at an altitude of 4268 feet above sea level. This track is spread over an area of 37 square kilometres. The route of Millam glacier from Munsayari base camp of Pithoragarh district is equipped with a unique blend of grandeur and adventure.


8) Adi Kailash Trek : Adi Kailash track is located near Indo-Tibetan border in Pithoragarh district. The highest elevation is 6310 m above sea level. Adi Kailash is also known as Chhota Kailash. It is also a replica of Mount Kailash Mansarovar in Tibet. Tourists coming from India and from other parts of world come here and experience immense peace and divine.

Queen Of Hills# Mussoorie


Mussoorie is one of the most popular hill station of India which is located within the Dehradun District of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It's about 35 kilometres from the capital of Dehradun and 290 km north of the capital Delhi. Capitol Hill station is within the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan range. The adjoining town of Landour, which includes a military cantonment, is taken under consideration a neighborhood of 'greater Mussoorie', as are the townships of Barlowganj and Jharipani.
